Flagaholics New 2024 Beer Pong Rules
Beer Pong Basics:
Equipment:
- A long table, typically 8 feet
- 22 plastic cups (10 for each team's triangle formation and 2 for rinsing balls)
- 2 ping pong balls
- Beer or beverage of choice
Setup:
- Form two teams of one or two players each.
- Arrange 10 cups in a triangle shape at each end of the table, facing each other. Each cup is partially filled with beer.
- Place a rinse cup filled with water on the side to clean the balls if they hit the floor.
Gameplay:
- Teams take turns trying to throw ping pong balls into the opposing team’s cups from behind their end of the table.
- If a ball lands in a cup, the opposing team removes that cup and drinks the contents. If both teammates land their balls in cups, they get the balls back for another turn.
- The team that eliminates all the opposing team's cups wins.
Standard Beer Pong Rules with Variations:
- Elbows Rule: Players must keep their elbows behind the edge of the table while throwing to prevent overreaching.
- Bounce Shots: Balls may be bounced into cups, but the defending team can swat away bounce shots. Bounce shots often count as two cups.
- Reracks: Each team is allowed to request a re-formation of the opposing team’s cups at the beginning of their turn, typically twice per game.
Ending the Game:
- The game ends when all of one team’s cups have been removed.
- The losing team has the opportunity for "redemption," where they try to hit remaining cups in a final turn. If they succeed, the game goes into overtime with three cups arranged in a triangle.
Safety and Considerations:
- Always drink responsibly and know your limits.
- Use water in cups if preferred to maintain hygiene.
- Ensure everyone is comfortable with the game and consent is given to play.
Variations to Explore:
- Fireball: Successful shots in consecutive turns heat up a player, allowing them to keep shooting until they miss.
- Death Cup: If a player sinks a ball into a cup that’s already been hit but not yet removed, the game is instantly over.
- Island: Once per game, a player may declare a specific cup as the "island," and if they hit it, multiple cups are removed.
